National Flower of Sri Lanka


The Nil Manel (Nymphaea stellata) Blue Water Lily was picked as the national flower of Sri Lanka in February 1986.

The Blue Water Lily of impeccable delight fulness is a normal sight all around the island. Developing in shallow new waters with no season for sprouting, the Blue Water Lily flourishes wherever lakes, lakes or swamp area is discovered

This flower is recognized an image of Purity and Truth because of the way that it develops in sloppy water yet rises above it so clean and fragrant
